For example:
- Ram is singing a song. In this sentence “sing” is a verb.
- I go to school every day. “Go” is a verb in this sentence.
Verbs Forms
There are 6 forms to use a verb in different types of sentences.
- Base Form: run, go, read…
- Infinitive: to run, to go, to read…
- Present Participle: I run, I go, they read…
- Past Tense: ran, went, read…
- Past Participle: run, gone, read…
- Gerund: running, going, reading…
There are three types of verbs:
- Action verbs (Go, Sleep, Eat, etc.)
- Modal verbs (can, could, may, might, etc.)
- Auxiliary verbs (be, can, do, have, etc.)
