In this chapter, students will learn about the first chapter of NCERT Class 8 Maths, Rational Numbers, which includes positive, negative, and zero. It has some main topics such as determining equivalent rational numbers, comparing them, and performing arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, which students must know.
Chapter 2: Linear Equations in One Variable
Linear Equations in One Variable, this is the second chapter of NCERT Class VIII Maths. This chapter is important for algebra and gives the basis for solving algebra problems. This equation is written as: 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏 = 0, where 𝑎 and 𝑏 are constants, and 𝑥 is a variable.
Chapter 3: Understanding Quadrilaterals
“Understanding Quadrilaterals” is the third chapter of NCERT class 8 maths. In this, students will get a chance to know the properties and types of quadrilaterals along with their applications, which will give students all kinds of knowledge related to quadrilaterals. There are 4 exercises in this chapter.
Chapter 4: Practical Geometry
Practical Geometry is the 4th chapter of NCERT class 8 maths. In this chapter students will learn to draw triangles with different types of special angles (like 60°, 90°, 45°), sides or angles and quadrilaterals based on the length of sides or diagonals with the help of compass, ruler and protractor. It contains 5 exercises.
Chapter 5: Data Handling
Data Handling is the fifth chapter of NCERT Class 8 Maths. In this chapter, students will learn to collect and organize data and present data in the form of pictographs, pie charts and bar graphs. The method of representing data is mean, median and mode. It has 3 exercises.
Chapter 6: Square and Square Roots
This is the sixth chapter of NCERT Class 8 Maths, named “Square and Square Root”. In this chapter, students are given 4 exercises through which they will learn the concept of square numbers and finding square roots.
Chapter 7: Cube and Cube Roots
This is the seventh chapter of NCERT Class 8 Maths, named “Cube and Cube Roots”. In this chapter, students are given 2 exercises through which they will learn about cube numbers, cube roots, and related properties. Apart from this, they will be taught to find cube roots in multiple ways.
Chapter 8: Comparing Quantities
This is the eighth chapter of NCERT Class 8 Maths named “Comparison of Quantities”. This chapter will help students to learn comparison between percentage increase and decrease, market price, selling price, discount etc. It has 3 exercises.
Chapter 9: Algebraic Expressions and Identities
Do you know about “Algebraic Expressions and Identities”? This is chapter 9 of class 8 of NCERT. In this chapter, student will learn about algebraic expressions and their properties. There are 3 types of Algebraic Expressions, 1st is Monomial (4x), 2nd is Binomial (3x + 5) and 3rd is Trinomial (x2+2x+1).
Chapter 10: Visualizing Solid Shapes
The name of this chapter is “Visualization of Solid Figures” and it is chapter 10 of NCERT class 8. In this chapter, students will also learn three-dimensional 3D shapes, solid figures, orthographic projection, isometric projection and surface area and volume. This chapter has 3 exercises, which also provide the students a base for the upcoming class.
